Troop 2289 is a large, multi level troop of Girl Scout Daisies through Ambassadors & their adults.
We meet weekly from Labor Day until mid June, with several meet ups throughout the summer. Our troop likes to be active with outings, community service and camping events annually.

There are five main steps for new scouts.
Register to be a Girl Scout with our local council, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, GSCM linked below.
Complete troop registration and order your uniform, if needed, via Google form, below.
Complete the Health History found on the "Forms" page linked below. Email to troop2289 [at] gmail [dot] com or turn in paper copies at the next meeting.

Friends & Family Event
This is a meet up, not a registered Girl Scout Troop 2289 Event. Scouts remain in their adult's care and supervision.
Tags or Tag-A-Long
A youth guest. Typically brother, sister, or friends.
Patrol
In scouting typically larger troops are broken down to smaller groupings or patrols. Patrols in our troop are based on Girl Scout levels: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, & Ambassadors.
Troop Event or Activity
Adults must be registered and background checked to attend. Youth may attend without their adults and Adult to scout ratios must be maintained with a minimum of three adults present for overnights and two for daytrips including one registered First Aider.
When is Founder's Day? How does the troop celebrate it?
Founder's Day is October 31st. We Celebrate Founder's Day with a Halloween themed birthday campfire including games, s'more's, and SWAPS exchange.
What are SWAPS?
"Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere," small tokens exchanged with other Girl Scouts.
When is the Girl Scout Birthday? How does the troop celebrate it?
The Girl Scout Birthday is March 12th. We celebrate the Girl Scout Birthday with a cookie cupcake decorating challenge.
Patrol
A patrol is a smaller grouping within the troop. Our patrols are typically one level, but can sometimes be two or more levels. For instance all girls in 2nd & 3rd grade are in the Brownies Patrol. We currently have five patrols: Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette/Senior and Ambassadors

That's us! Our five patrols combined make up our troop.
*In our council, Girls Scouts of Central MD, a typical troop averages 8-12 girls in one level. With over 60 girls, our troop is one of the larger ones in our area but more of a typical size in other councils.
