We are the youngest patrol in Troop 2289, serving scouts in 1st grade, Kindergarten and K4. The minimum age to join our troop is 4. Girl Scouting levels are based on the scout's grade level in school, not advancement on a badge or rank system. Scouts will be considered a Daisy Scout until bridging in September of a scout's 2nd grade year of school. A side note about our K4 scouts. These scouts are signing up for additional time in the Daisy program. These girls are often a leader's daughter, little sisters, or family members from within the troop, but not exclusively.
The Girl Scout Daisy program is designed as a two year program with many options for badges, awards, and activities for scouts. As you will see below our troop offers the opportunity to complete a large selection of those. While there is no "must do" list of badges, the Daisy Flower Petal series is a staple of the Daisy program. If your scout is a 1st grader, joining after the start of the year, you may want to consider working on any petals the troop has already covered at home.
For the 2024-25 school year we have a wonderful new Patrol Leadership team stepping forward. Ms Brittany and Mr John will be taking the lead with planning support from Ms CarrieAnn. We also have several parents signed up as Troop Volunteers and Troop Parents. (Thank You!) We can't wait to see where this year leads our scouts as we share our love of scouting!
Lastly, we are a volunteer organization, run by volunteers who support this program. If you are interested in helping or attending any outings as a chaperone, we would love to have you! Adults need to register as a Girl Scout, same account you registered your girls, selecting the role of "Friends and Family". When this role is selected a background check will be triggered via email. Once you submit the background check and it is complete, you and leadership will receive an email notification that we have a new volunteer. This can take up to two weeks but is typically returned sooner. If you have a specific leadership role or job in mind, please reach out to the troop account and we can help. Otherwise check in with your level leadership and discuss where you can lend a hand with your patrol.

The troop will attempt a variety of badges, petals, awards, and pins over the time your scout is a Daisy. Some badges the troop leadership has designated as "core badges", which are repeated every year, and others that the girls have expressed interest in. Girl Scouts offers a wide variety to choose from and we can't possibly complete as many as we want through troop meetings alone. Daisies will work on the troop chosen core badges, (all Daisy Flower Petals (10), Daisy Buddy Camper, Daisy Eco Learner, Automotive Engineering badge trio), two financial literacy badges during cookie season, (these rotate each year), 2-3 journeys awards, (Outdoor Journey offered each year, 1-2 other journeys offered on rotation) and several other badges that the girls express interest in. We will also have opportunities to attend special events and overnights throughout the year. Listed in the plan below are the badges, petals, awards, and pins we plan to accomplish this year with a peak at the ones we have identified for next year so far. Keep in mind, we have not included the fun patches and Council Own patches that some activities will earn, only the official or "front of the vest" recognitions. The Special Events sections lists troop events that the Daisies are able to attend. Additionally check out the bottom section of this page for suggestions of badges that can be worked on as a Juliette.
As with any plan, the following is subject to change based on the interests of our scouts and needs of our leadership. For event and meeting details please see Trooptrack where you can view all event and activity details, RSVP, and pay for dues, uniforms (new to troop only), and events.

Take a look below to help with badge placement on our Daisy vests. Badges can be attached in many ways: sewing, iron on, Badge Magic, glue (hot, fabric, Elmer's, gorilla), or even a stapler. (We have heard it all, and probably tried a few ourselves!) The best practice is to sew them on with a med to wide zigzag or straight stitch. This allows patches to be moved with minimal effort, if more space is needed towards the second year, and greatly reduces the risk of badges falling off. That being said, everyone has their own opinions and best practices, don't be afraid to see what works best for your family. Getting them on the vest before they get lost or forgotten is more than half the battle! If you need help attaching patches or have any questions about placement, please reach out to your Patrol Leadership or the troop email.
Fun patches and Cookie patches are not listed below. They should be placed on the back of the vest, typically starting at the bottom and filling up towards the shoulders as we go. Keep in mind, we are an active troop and their vests will fill up quickly!
*Several of the Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will sew on patches as a fundraiser toward their medal awards. Please contact the troop email for more information.

These are songs the Daisies will learn to sing for troop campfire events in the Fall: Juliette Gordon Low's Birthday Bash & SWAP, and the Spring: Girl Scout's Birthday Bash. Has your Daisy scout been signing to you? If not, sing it with them!
The badges, pins, and awards graphics below were last updated for the 2024-25 scout year. Badges released over the summer of 2024 are included.
For scouts wanting to complete badge work with their adult or participate in events as a Juliette, we suggest the following badges, awards and pins:
Badge Sets; Cybersecurity, Coding For Good, and Robotics.
Individual badges; Daisy Trail Adventure, Daisy Snow or Climbing Adventure, Digital Leadership, STEM Career Exploration, and Global Action.
Pins; Cookie Entrepreneur Family Pin, and My Promise, My Faith pin. Both years.
Journeys; Think Like A Programmer, and Think Like A Citizen Scientist.
Badges, awards, and pin requirement pamphlets can be purchased online or in person at the Girl Scout Store. While the online store will list the three high level requirements, five for older girls, badge pamphlets go into detail about each requirement and give a choice of three activities to meet that requirement. It can be misleading as you will see the exact same sentence requirement across multiple levels. Upon reviewing the pamphlet you will find that we answer that requirement in a different way at every level by looking at different aspects of the topic. Girls build upon the knowledge from level to level. If you need help finding any requirements or teaching materials please contact your Patrol Leadership or the troop email. As leaders, we have additional access to teaching materials through the Virtual Tool Kit (VTK) and are happy to pass them to our families.
The badges, awards, and pins listed in this section above are not currently in, nor are being planned, for our troop's two year plan. Please be aware this may change over time and we will update here as the troop's two year plan shifts.
When your scout completes badges, awards, or pins as a Juliette or as make up work due to an absence, make sure to inform your Patrol Leadership. Patrol leadership will then report completions to the Advancement Chair for inclusion in the next COA. Due to the variety of advancement required for six different levels, please do not forward directly to the Advancement Chair.
*There will be times your scout will have already earned a badge, award, or pin. This will certainly be the case with our troop's chosen core badges as we will repeat them annually. If your scout has already earned a badge, award or pin, we encourage them to participate in the activity with the troop anyway. Even if it's the exact same lesson plan. They are likely to learn something they missed the first time or it will reinforce their skills on that topic. They will not earn the badge, award or pin a second time, but in its place the troop will typically award a themed fun patch, (troop core badges).
